The Return of the Gooey Sticky Snowman Head

Brain cancer is...

melting.

We are happy to report that Darrell has been using Optune long enough that we are back to the season of melting arrays.  I missed the picture, but given today's heat, the gel that affixes the Optune transducers to the bandages melted today, and some fell onto Darrell's shoulders in gooey clumps.  Just like the olden days, noted in this post.    Hurrah for easy problems!

I may have missed the gooey sticky pic, but I did catch Mousse showing off one of his newer tricks.

Darrell says, "Mousse is so gifted!"

Happy Sunday, Team D!

Thanks for being there, Team D!

Darrell's Ever Expanding Quote Collection

Brain cancer is...

...so quotable!

I awoke at 7 am to the sound of running water in the front yard.  I went to the front door, and Darrell greeted me with the view (above) and the quote, "Our detail shop opened early today."

Later, he told me...

..."I love this park."

After lunch we changed his arrays, first shaving with a new and sharper shaver.

His quote was, "Oh No!  I feel naked!"

Darrell, please keep your quotes coming for every day of my life.  I love you.

Summer!!

Brain cancer is...

...appreciating holidays that commemorate passing days.

Today Summer Rae turned 24. We celebrated in the morning with them before they (apparently enchanted by our recent mountain pics) headed up to Big Bear to celebrate some more.

Over breakfast the four of us had a gratifying conversation about how many important things Summer accomplished in her 23rd year and about how many ways she contributed to great things in other people's lives.  Once again we had a chance to recognize the importance of not saying, when we hit another birthday, "Ugh, another year older!" but "Wow! How amazing that I had this year on Earth! Look how great it was!"

Thanks, Birthday Summer, for the opportunity to again consider the awesomeness of the cumulative gift of days that each birthday offers us.

Back in the OC

Brain cancer is...

...down the mountain.

Here's what workers look like at the Fullerton computer stations:

Still smiling.  And, Curt, because you asked...

...fireworks through the pines, over the lake. Not great, but the photo does have evidentiary value.

Hope you're smiling too, Team D!

Happy Independence Day!

Brain cancer is...

...enjoying a great holiday in a beautiful setting.

Everyone works.  While I did this work:

Darrell worked his typical power tool magic:

Later we hiked at the lake.  Here's a Public Service Announcement from Darrell:

"The species are very sensitive.  Please do not yell at them." Will do, Darrell.

Our final plan for the day is to watch the fireworks on the lake from up here in Fawnskin.

We hope you are having a great day doing things you like with people you love.

Happy Birthday, USA!

Relaxed.

Brain cancer is...

relaxed.

We just love the view from the upper deck.  The lighting is so nice.

Today we cocooned.  I graded, we did an array change, and we enjoyed just holding still.

Here's to more of the same tomorrow!

Happy Monday.
