Extreme Packing

 Brain cancer is...

...sorry not to be able to show the neighbors how it's done.

Now that the El Dorado Fire is mostly contained, we need to head up to the cabin.  This trip involves...Extreme Packing.

Here's the video.   Watch and learn.

Happy Hot Wednesday, Team D!

It’s a Mad World.

 Brain cancer is...

...having a Tuesday Parent Day.

As if 2020 could get any weirder.

Oddly aligned schedules allowed us to hang with Gordon and LuAnn today.

Gordon set up the shot, above.  Funny, Dad!  Perfect for a Tuesday Parent Day.

Once Gordon set the stage for the photos, Darrell followed suit with this shot with LuAnn.

It’s a mad world.  Happy Tuesday, Team D!

Darrell Once Again is Supervising

Readers Note:  Darrell's on a posting streak, continuing today.

Brain cancer is...

...supervising the loading of space from a distance.

In 2019, we spent three nights at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, and while Andi worked, I supervised (tongue in cheek) the arrival of truck cargo trailers and their placement in the cargo bay of a Dole freighter (see here for the post).

It took them three days, and the workers were careful to replace the trailers on the spot with the new trailers to avoid tipping the ship. The whole operation was like a well oiled machine.  All workers knew their roles.

Above you see neighbors packing and getting ready to move out using U-Haul trucks and Pod storage containers.  Not such a well oiled machine perhaps, but they made it work.  It also took a number of days.  As for my supervising, hey, old habits die hard...

Timing the Flu Shot

Readers Note:  Darrell's genius is here for you again today.

Brain cancer is...

...taking valuable time away from our busy day get the flu shot.

We got our flu shots today.  The pharmacist explained that they last  only five months. He said, "get it too early, and it could run out before the season ends.  Get it too late, and you may get the flu before your body builds up enough antibodies." He said we timed it right (towards the end of September).

As they say, timing is everything Team D.

(Andi's take:  Yes, of course we asked if they had any other vaccines we needed.  They looked us up, and the answer was no.  Alex says we've been flagged.)

More good timing:

Frank and LuAnn spent some time on the lake.  Should we say OPTUNE Frank and LuAnn?  Yes!  Rock on Ransleys!!

One benefit of early coffee on the patio...even without doughnuts...is that the morning glories really do have some trace of glory to them.  Later in the day, they just look invasive.

Stress Eating (or: Continuing to Party)

Readers Note:  Darrell's genius is back up and running for you today.  Hurrah!

Brain cancer is...

...eating junk food all day.

Andi woke up and wanted a sugared doughnut and a cup of coffee on her patio.  Since she was planning of working all day, I was on it.  Our favorite doughnut place, "Doughnuts Star," is really close to our home.  Within 5 minutes, we had our glazed and sugar doughnuts and were on the patio enjoying.

So what about lunch you ask?  We started with buffalo wings above.  Then we moved onto pizza below.  The pizza in our house is a compromise.  Andi needs vegetables and I need meat so we start with a modified vegetarian (no mushrooms) and add sausage and pepperoni.

Hey, what's that salad doing here?

No day is perfect, right Team D?
