Sorceress!

Brain cancer is...

...married to a sorceress.

As Brady put it, we woke up in Santa Ana in the dark, were having breakfast with Gordon in Glendora before 8:30, and finished a gig in the park by 12:00.  And later  we had plenty of laughs at a happy hour with the Mayfields.  Awesome? Yes.  Magic?  No.

The magic is that Darrell has decided that Andi is bewitched.  Specifically, when Andi does some Internet wizardry on the iPhone, he claims, "Sorceress!"  It sounds especially awesome when he says it.

So I've been embracing the notion that I'm a sorceress, using it it view everyday life with a new, witchy way.

For example, we love the moment, before a trip when this...

...becomes this:

So satisfying!  There is no other explanation.  Sorceress!

Magical Disappearing Arrays?

Brain cancer is...

 ...sporting new tan arrays.

Novocure traded out white arrays for tan.  Today was our first change to the new color.  You see them, above.  Or...do you?

They are taking some getting used to for both of us.  Darrell says he startles himself every time he walks by a mirror.

We do think we like the look.  Comments from you, Team D members?

Meet Gary and Suzie

This evening we had the pleasure of meeting Gary and Suzie. They live just a few miles away and are on a GBM journey we really resonate with.

Suzie and Gary, thanks for sharing your story with us.  We appreciate the grace, humor, and solidarity you so clearly are employing in this journey. You are in our hearts!

A Fence for the Second 63 Years

Brain cancer is...

 ...showing off our new fence.

Our house is 63 years old, and, until today, it had the original fence along one side.
Although the property next door has changed hands a few times in the 20 years we've been here, no owner wanted to tackle sharing the expense of a new fence.  New neighbor = new fence...for the next 63 years!

Can you remember how it looked?  Worn out grape stake.  Like this:

The barriers in front were to stop Beowulf from exploring.  This photo was a couple months ago.  And then the winds hit last week and the fence looked like this:

Here it is in process yesterday:

And here's one more shot of the finished product:

You can't see it, but a dark board runs behind the fence, from ground to above the bottom the fence for Beowulf repulsion.  Sorry Beowulf!

Darrell says good fences make for good neighbors.

Happy Tuesday!

A Bird at the Park

Brain cancer is...

...cutting down the cuteness quotient.

Here's a cool bird at the park.

(Yes, Geoff.  Birds are cool.  Check out the one-legger action on this one.)

We also saw these berries and loved the contrasting colors that played off each other so well.

We were just a little concerned that we might overload your cuteness sensors with all of the Nova-and-GPops synergistic awesomeness.  Always your best interests are at our hearts.

Oh, Okay.  Here's one more Nova/GPops pic.  Alex, Tiana, and Nova left today, and we won't see them again for a bit.  Thus, you're entitled.

As you see, Nova is making direct eye contact and interacting.
GPops and GMama are pretty sure we saw several smiles today.  Nova is no doubt smile gifted, in our view.  Her parents, claiming objectivity, were less convinced.  Who would you rather believe?

Cheddar and Chowda

Brain cancer is...

...watching football with Nova.

Today Nova watched football with aunt and uncle and all.  We ate the cheddar cheese too late in the game to help the Packers beat the Chargers.  Ouch.

Then Nova put on her Pats hat to support her mom’s family’s team.  There’s nothing like a baby to make it okay to watch Tom Brady...without saying bad things.

Not only did we watch the game, we ate chowder in support of New England.  We aren’t at the half yet, but the chowder seems to be working.

Clearly we love you, Nova.

Ps...This one-click purchase appeared late this evening.

Ready for the second half of the season!

Six and a Baby

Brain cancer is...

...happy to see family together.

Charlene and Ryan joined the party.  Sorry: Aunt and Uncle.

Fullerton Meets Nova.

Brain cancer is...

 ...welcoming Fullerton to Nova.

Nova is here for the weekend.  Oops...sorry.  Tiana, Alex, and Nova are here for the weekend.
To be thoroughly Guillaume, one must rave about Stubriks.
Above you see that Nova did well at her first Stubriks' training session. But exactly who raved about whom?
Welcome to Nova, Fullerton.
