Brain cancer is...

 ...FaceTiming with our 93-year old dad. 

Gordon's kids all gave him an iPhone for Christmas.  He's doing a great job of experimenting and learning.

Today he and Gary (also a new iPhoner) were trying new things.  We received our first FaceTime call from Gordon.  The use of video is magic in this time of COVID. 

We were all glad to see each other. And we're glad that people keep learning new things.

On our walk, we expected to see a groundhog and ask him how his day was.  We found his hole, but not him.  

We suppose that there is so much pressure on the hog during this day that he doesn't have time to waste.  

(Factual disclaimer:  In our locale, it's gophers, not groundhogs, and above you see evidence of a whole family of avoidant rodents, not just one shy guy.)

Summer, walking in northern Colorado, is capturing lots of bald eagles on video lately.  Magical!

This was near the "groundhogs'" burrow on our walk today.  Maybe we could just look at the sky and make our own determination about the season?

Monday Fun Day

 ...continuing to have fun and smile at the world's beauty.

Coming home from errands, we chased the sunset.  Above you see the shot from a local park, Panorama Nature Preserve.  It was worth the chase!

Being a kid herself, Andi bought Nova some Lego "Duplos."  They are the larger version of Lego building blocks, safe for little kids

...done training.

We did our final "longer" walk today:  Ten miles. 

We saw a couple bird things that surprised even us bird dorks.

Here are 11 seconds of an egret scratching its neck on a fence railing.  It makes complete sense, but it's a first for us.

When we got home, we each ate six Dove chocolates.  And now, for a week, we play.

Brain cancer is...

..enjoying necessary chores.

Even after a late start (breakfast was 12:30 pm), we enjoyed doing many rewarding chores.  Above you see Andi using OxiClean to remove oil stains from my favorite purple shirts.  Hey, it is better than throwing them away. (This life hack was brought to us by LuAnn.)

Next up, we checked out the back fence that needs to contain Beowulf.  When he comes to stay, he goes right for any opening.  Monitoring the perimeter is his job.  

Looks like the hole in the fence needs some discussion with our neighbor.  That's for another day.

Finally, we did some major leaf clean up in the driveway.  The leaves always collect at our house (and Franceen's house) due to some wind vortex action that we don't understand.  We think it might be a friendly spirit.
