Brain cancer is...

...facing a very determined opponent.

You messed with the wrong guy, brain cancer!  Darrell feels very determined to attack GBM with all the weapons at his disposal.

He feels like Optune is becoming more a part of his routine.  He says the most difficult aspects of Optune are thus far:
  • Changing his clothes
  • Sleeping
  • Always being connected to something
The parts that are smooth, thus far, are:
  • Operating the system
  • Mobility
We are recording the battery lifespans between charges for all the Jameses.  James West is so far the longest lived at 2 hours, 42 minutes.  We figured out the showering, which requires that none of the equipment (arrays, leads, and connectors) gets wet. Another first for Darrell:  Hello shower cap!

Darrell's figuring out the other aspects.  For instance, this well-loved walking hat, the black bucket hat from Zach...

...really did get too hot.

It's important to keep the arrays cool because sweat melts the gel that holds the disks close to his scalp.  We'd know if that happened because an alarm would go off.

Tomorrow we change the arrays by ourselves for the first time.

More good news:  UCLA informs us that Foundation One approved our request for financial assistance, so the company will pay 100% of the "deep dive" genetic testing.  That request is moving along.  Thank you Foundation One!

We hope you had some good news today too.
