Brain cancer is...
...ready for another round...of cancer eradication efforts.
Today after Andi's class with Block Four, Darrell was ready for his blood test, completion proof above. He is preparing for the next round of cancer eradication efforts: MRI on Tuesday, one doctor on Friday, another the Monday after that. No big deal, right?Wrong. During lunch at Islands, we found that St. Jude posted Darrell's blood test results.
The purpose of the blood test is to clear Darrell for the MRI.
Everything is okay. Phew.
But imagine being Darrell, looking at the results, above, and (a) knowing what each term means, (b) being able to trace each over time, and (c) caring. Basophils are high? Oh no! Hermatocrit is tagged low? Rrrr. Hemoglobin? Also low! Dang.
Update 10:05 pm: Sorry to worry some of you. Darrell’s results are acceptable for him as a cancer
patient. They have spots that would be low for non cancer patients, but they are ok for him.
Long-term readers know that Darrell makes cancer eradication look easy. I just wanted Team D to have a behind-the-scenes view of what Darrell addresses every time he faces a round of cancer eradication. Imagine your very blood being your potential enemy. After all this time.
My husband is my hero.
Also my heroes...Block Four.
Above they represent: Four! Not only do they love Darrell, they love equity in great math instruction. I told them today that I have been bragging about them often (as in here and here), and they gave a resounding "yes" to our request to post a photo of them being awesome.
We love Darrell. We love Block 4. We love Team D.
Fight on, Darrell, Fight on. Another round please.
