Birthday Joy

 Brain cancer is...

...rolling strong with Birthday Month, Day 13.

Above you see Darrell, Kristine, and Keiva sharing birthday "JOY."  They model how to pose productively in the days of social distancing.  Great idea, Keiva!

No wonder none of you thus far have embraced your own month long celebration.  You really do need to be ready to commit.  Here's what that looks like, with today as an example.

1.  Walk to the beach for one last breakfast, even though checkout is in 45 minutes.

2.  Celebrate the end of the trip at Islands for lunch.  If you're Darrell, somehow manage two free birthday desserts instead of the one that most of us get.

 3.  Come home to a party on the porch.  Note that Darrell received a famed Mayfield custom poster.

4.  Enter the house to find...

...more party!  More presents!

5.  Enjoy the company of Kristine and Keiva (above, top) and their gift:

Homemade sourdough bread!  It's true; Darrell really is chomping into his loaf.  Kristine says it's okay.  I say he should share.  To be honest, when we said goodbye to the Quinns, we came back into the house and dug deeper into the sourdough.  Forget the fudge brownie!

Yes, friends,  Birthday Month takes celebratory stamina.  We do, however, show that it can be done.

Thanks for spending the month with us.  We hope your August thus far is as rewarding as ours.

Also, thanks for the "good things about 60+" points you're sharing with us for our list.  One thing on our list is that the best lessons from earlier years continue to stand the test of time.  Therefore, if you have a thing to share about the decade in which you find yourself (pre or post 60), feel free to share that too. We'd love to share in your wisdom!

Today's Bloom

Our neighbor has bougainvillea with variegated leaves. Fortunately it was blooming tonight when we needed it!
