Brain cancer is...
...appreciating an extra long day of doing nothing...
...except hanging out with people we love. At a distance. As per usual.
The first full day at the cabin is always Acclimate Day to give our bodies a chance to get accustomed to the elevation. Darrell woke up--late because it's also "Bonus Day," with the clocks set back--saying, "We need to work out today. Oh wait. We can't. It's Acclimate Day." Hoorah for Acclimate Day!
Hoorah, too, for Steve and Gwen Rudney who spent some nice time during Acclimate Day with us on Zoom. (Above. Even though it looks like it, no one was under water OR on the moon during the call. My lighting was just bad.)
We haven't been with the Rudneys since that tradition of the past: Dining in Westwood (2017, here) during a UCLA cancer visit. It was so good to pick up friend, family, and work threads, with the years just disappearing.
We also spent time virtually enjoying Beth's Murrieta sunset:
Melanie does a great job not bragging about the places she "gets stuck" when her plane breaks down.
Happy Bonus Hour/Acclimate Day Team D! It won't happen again for...at least one whole year!
Today's Bloom
Also from Melanie. Also Opus One.
