Dr. Cloughesy Says "Clear"!

Brain cancer is...

...almost done for the year.

Darrell's telehealth appointment with UCLA's Dr. Cloughesy went so well this morning.  Dr. Cloughesy confirmed that this month's scan (top) is virtually unchanged from the previous scan (bottom, from August).  Circled is the surgical site, home of the tumor and subsequent radiation target. 

 

Side medical note:  Years into this journey, we continue to learn (or maybe relearn?) something each time we meet with Dr. Cloughesy.  This morning he told us (or reminded us?) that Darrell's GBM type is "IDH1 Wild Type" as opposed to the less common "IDH1 Mutant Type." The mutant type has better prognosis.  Good thing we didn't know that little bit of unhappy news 4 years, 10 months ago!

 

We see Dr. Park next week then, barring any change in symptoms, Darrell is finished with Cancer Course until the end of March 2021.

 

You know what this means, right?  

It means it was a three dessert day!
