[Some More] Gratitude

Brain cancer is...

 ...continuing to experience gratitude.

The more time that elapses post Darrell's diagnosis, the more fervent we are to appreciate all that we have and can do.

Today we expressed gratitude to our bodies--starting with our toes, with many stops, up to our brains--for the ability to walk.  We are very aware that some people we love wish they could walk more, with less pain.

On this lovely Friday, we walked nine miles. Together.  Pain free.  What could be better?

You know we like to count things and measure things, so we checked our Fit Bit stats.  Because I lost our first Fit Bit somewhere in Chicago, 2016, our current "Fit Bit Lifetime" began December 12, 2016.  Since then, as of today:

  • We have taken 4,296,799 steps.
  • We have walked 2018.94 miles.
Dang!  We missed the lifetime miles badge we earned a couple days ago:

Apparently we could have walked across India, had we paid for the airline tickets.  Now we are working on the Monarch Migration lifetime miles badge, which is 2,500 miles.

Wait! In case you think that a single tiny butterfly has more superpowers than Darrell and Andi:  No one butterfly makes that migration.  It takes four generations of Monarchs to complete those 2,500 miles.  We should hit our Monarch Migration Badge goal in approximately mid July.

Thank you for being the people who continue to be high on our gratitude list.

Enjoy your Friday!

  1. Can you believe that if there was a million-step medal, you and Darrell would each have 4 of them? That is truly impressive!!!

  2. And only one person would get the BILLION step medal. Her initials are CM.
