Brain cancer is...
...en route to Alaska.
As our cab driver took us from the Vancouver, BC, Amtrak station to the cruise ship station in Vancouver, he asked about our journey. When we told him that we were headed to Alaska, he said, "I am still dreaming" [about visiting Alaska].
This whole journey felt technicolor real when we replied, "This IS our dream."
Here's to Darrell and his 50th state!
[Important note: Geoff and Beth completed the Great Northern Migration and boarded the ship in time for the muster drill. Curt and Barb and we enjoyed a gorgeous train ride northward from Seattle, and we have many great pictures of the sixsome--mostly wearing hats. Maybe tomorrow I'll figure out the shipboard Wi-Fi well enough to visually share some images, including reunions, hats, and our butler's first selfie with passengers. But we know you can paint the mental pics if not.]
Here's to living the dream!
Update 7/18/18: Here's a link to the video tour of Stateroom 509, taken right before the muster drill.
Update 7/6/18: Added a couple photos, above and below:
Muster drill. After this photo, we really did focus on learning how to muster. |
