Brain cancer is...
...back in Big Bear, or more precisely, Fawnskin.
We headed up the mountain first thing this morning, in time for an early lunch and Tiffany's ambassador call. We won't make the 11-day cabin record of our November visit, but sometimes a little is enough.
We made it up in time for Tiffany's call. Darrell may/may not be chosen as an ambassador, given the fact that much communication occurs patient-to-patient over the phone. Regardless of what happens next, it was a privilege to share Darrell's story with a new person who wanted to hear.
Of course there were plenty of open tears. Short story:
- "GBM could happen to anyone."
- "Yes. GBM happened to us."
- "Who do you have?"
- "We have each other."
- "And who do you have for support?"
- "We have our family. We have Team D."
If Darrell isn't chosen for the ambassador role, it'll be too bad. But it won't be everything.
I am proud of Darrell. And we are proud together of Team D. For the thousandth time...thank you.
Good wishes, Tiffany.
