Not Sitting Still

Brain cancer is...

 ...making things happen.

Darrell kept life moving today.  Above you see our delicious grilled steak and potato dinner.  (Look Nancy, vegetables!)

For those friends who dislike food photos:  Sorry.  The kitchen table is the only view I've had today, other than my computer screens.

I'm up against some big deadlines and spent 12 hours in my office chair.

See?

Inactivity:  Go big or go home.

Darrell, I appreciate you anew...today and every day.

Building Memories

Brain cancer is...

 ...home.

On the last leg of the drive, we agreed:  There's nothing like being away to make you appreciate home.

Also, there's nothing like being home that makes you appreciate away.

Without capturing the narrative, here is a slideshow of some of our visual memories of a trip that was sweet, sweet, sweet.

Our Last Night on the Road

Brain cancer is...

 ...satisfied.

Summer took the photo, above, at 6 this morning before hopping into the car with us as we took Zach and her back to the Tucson Airport.  Good thing it was a long ride because we needed  the time to soak up their presence and hold us over until we see them again.

Zach and Summer landed safely in Denver before we finished brunch back in Florence with the newly joined "Fans of Stuart and Amanda" family.  We feel gratitude to be members of another new, smiling family.

We hugged Alex and Tiana as they headed back to So Cal.  More hugs soon, please, Kids.

Then Gordon, Gary and we left for Yuma. We are staying a night in Yuma to break up the drive some. We discovered the  historic downtown and its great Italian food.

See you tomorrow, So Cal!

Here's to Every New and Wild Thing

Brain cancer is...

...so happy to have a new niece!

Darrell has been Stuart's uncle all Stuart's life.  Today Amanda officially became Darrell's niece.
Stuart and Amanda's wedding was worthy of the amazing people they are.

Here's to family.

Here's to every new thing.

Here's to every new and wild thing.

Happy Day, Team D!

Gathering Family

Brain cancer is...

...with kids.

Today was another day to celebrate family.  And this afternoon all four of our kids came in.

We haven’t been together since Summer and Zachary’s wedding. Big full hearts!

Tucson (Darrell says: "Where they don't pronounce the letter c.")

Brain cancer is...

...happy with the wedding adventure Day Two.

Today we all worked out and then headed to Tucson for the rehearsal dinner.  We're settled in to our hotel, about to leave for dinner.  We're excited to see the happy couple and family.

On the way here, we saw beautiful desert (above).  We also stopped for Italian food in Gila Bend.  We ate at the top ranked restaurant in town.

Clearly the serve only the finest clientele.

Oh, and also they serve Prince Harry and Meghan.

Happy Thursday, Friends!

2:41 to Yuma

Brain cancer is...

...in Yuma.

2:41 to Yuma?  Well, we came in a little earlier than the name of the movie, 3:10 to Yuma (click here for the reference.  We didn't know that the 2007 version was a remake of the 1957 version, here. Whoa.)

We are moving toward a huge family celebration:  The wedding of Amanda and Stuart (maybe you remember them from long ago, wearing their 2016 dinosaur hats?  Click here.)

Gary, Gordon, Darrell and Andi enjoyed so many cool sights between Fullerton and Yuma today.

California's largest lake:  The Salton Sea
This is California?  What?

In Arizona, the Colorado River

Good night, Yuma.

Tomorrow:  Tucson.  Family, here we come!
