Brain cancer is...

...a boon for local tourism.

Oh, Friends!  We are beginning to use our adventure journal gifts and just may need to convert the Brain Cancer is... blog into a Guillaume Travelblog given your generosity.

Today we used the OC Parks pass (G!!), and for the first time in his life, Darrell drove into Craig Park rather than walking in from the street, as we poor people typically do.  His first words were, "This is like a baby London Pass!" (A London Pass is equal to gold to us.)

Life 1.0 held so many great memories of Craig Park for us.  Our boys played there as little tykes with friends while moms pushed swings.  Flash forward to Alex running FUHS cross country there.  Envision our dog Lilah belly flopping into the lake to harry the ducks.

Today we had a Life 2.0 Craig Park experience.  We did the walking tour, which has QR codes that give info about the history of the park and its components.  We had great finds, like the one above, and here's one more:

California Natives (both the plants and the people who use them)
We really are printing out pictures of our adventures and placing them in the pages of the journal.

Today we got a So Cal map from the Auto Club.  We are going to label it with all the great adventures you included in the journal and hit the California roads.

Then parrot window clings arrived (necessary!) and dessert looked like this:

(Good thing for the walks, right? We are loving every bite!)

Thank you for helping see this as an adventure and for feeding us along the journey.

  2. Thanks, Monica. Your idea of places for pictures was genius! I feel like we're getting our passport stamped. I wonder if you envisioned us flipping through the journal post-adventure, post-picture additions. All I knew to feel was overwhelmed by generosity upon receipt. I didn't know how much we'd enjoy "completing" each adventure and its spread. Who taught you anyway? Brilliant! (ha ha) We appreciate all the effort every day!

  3. I learn from the best :) And I also have a ton more scrapbook supplies when you start to create your own adventures and finish the ones provided. Let me know if you need a journaling/scrapbook night- it was very therapeutic for me! xoxo
