Sparkly Teeth and 76 Degrees

Brain cancer is...

...utilizing our dental benefits for the year.

Oh wait. That photo's not right. Here.

That’s better! Don’t let our grimaces frighten you.  Nova says a good “grrrr” is the best way to show off teeth.

We got in our second cleaning for 2020 and then enjoyed a 76-degree walk at the park. Nice.

I was proud of Darrell.  In all the time since his diagnosis, I have sat in the dental exam room with him in an extra chair and have done the talking for him. Until today that is.  We had our appointments at the same time, and he chit chatted away with his hygienist.  Just keep on pushing those limits, Darrell!

The Advent of Advent Calendars: Today's the Day!

On November 30 several years ago, I was eager to take out our treasured family Advent calendar for the holidays.  Then I realized that I had no kids home to hang the daily ornament.  It was the first time it sunk in that our kids did what grown kids do:  Move away and start their own traditions.  I was sad.  I left the calendar in the closet.

Today we hung our calendar.  Now I realize that we don't need anyone other than ourselves in the house to appreciate it...or the season.

Now that's mom progress, right?  Darrell's not the only one working hard on personal growth.  (Smile.)

Coming clean:  Admittedly, knowing that Nova and her parents were home enjoying her first day's Advent calendar treat maybe had a little something to do with it.

Annual Holiday Statement:  Darrell and Andi love Christmas. A lot.  It's our big holiday.  Bigger than birthday month.  We also appreciate how many wonderful holidays are out there being celebrated.  We honor you and the holidays you celebrate, loved ones.
