Chia Pet Darrell

Brain cancer is...

...not keeping this hairy man down.

When people lose their hair due to some kinds of chemo, it usually comes back, albeit in some interesting new variation.  When people lose their hair due to radiation, it doesn't typically come back.  But our Big D is no typical man.

Here's a photo from May 9.   His head is shaved for Optune Day 1, but you can clearly see the "peaks and valleys" where no hair would grow, thanks to radiation.  Technical term:  Slick bald.

Contrast the May photo with today's photo, taken before we shaved for his array change.

Chia pet Darrell!  No more peaks and valleys. You can't keep a good head of hair down!

(Side note:  Don't be worried about the red spots; they aren't actually that pronounced.  The array transducers irritate his scalp as they wage war against tumor cells.  We move the arrays so the irritated scalp rests.)

Nothing makes Hairy Man D and his family happier than...

Middle Eastern food for dinner!

Thanks, Heather and Paul for this little bit of paradise!  This plus Zombee doughnuts?  Is it wrong to love food as much as we do?

Happy Thursday, Team D.  Here's hoping your weekend is just steps away.
