Not Growing

Brain cancer is...

..."not growing."

Two quotes for the day:

1. "Let's keep on doing what we're doing."  --Dr. Cloughesy (rhymes with frowzy)
2. "I need a pastry."  --Big D.

It was a very good UCLA visit.  In a list:

• Dr. Cloughesy didn't want to go so far as to say the tumor cavity is shrinking, but he was very clear in his conclusion that it's "not growing."  (You see that in Scan 1, above.) We'll take it.
• The edema (swelling) is definitely improved from May to June.  (You see that comparing scans  2 with 4).
• Darrell is allowed to continue with his steroids for another month. (He was not above begging.  Just kidding!)
• Darrell will indeed start another round of Temodar (chemo) tonight, for the typical five days.
• Darrell will have another scan at the end of July, and Dr. Cloughesy will see him again in August.
• We will see Dr. Park in a couple weeks for our regular visit.

We thought it was going to be a good visit, particularly because our parrots followed us to the UCLA Cancer Center waiting room:

PS...We know they didn't follow us, and we're not even sure they are parrots.  But they did make us smile.
 And that was enough.
