Death Valley

Brain cancer is...


...soaking up one more day of California sunshine.

It was an easy and enjoyable drive to Death Valley, which doesn’t deserve its name.  It’s very much alive, with people who have lived here for a millennium, with many endemic species, and with active geological forces at work.

Here are a few highlights from our first day:

Zabriskie’s Point 

The salt flat at Badwater Basin, the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere.
Painter's Palette
Dinner at the Inn at Death Valley was great, but not as great as the night sky.
