 ...polishing friendships from the '80s.

Today we enjoyed lunch with Mara Casey and Spencer Grant in their home with beautiful views (above).

Mara and I started our friendship in my first graduate class at UC Riverside in 1985.  We both finished our PhD degrees at UCR in the same field.  Since then we've stayed in touch. 

Mara and Spencer were there before the birth of our sons, and, in fact, Spencer documented many points in our family's history with his topnotch work as a freelance/stock photographer.  Here's an example:

Mara and Spencer have been always been supportive friends, and they have especially reached out after Darrell's diagnosis.  Thanks, Mara, and Spencer, for our shiny gold friendship.
