Attention: Happy Dancers

Brain cancer is...

Image 1:  Edema (swelling) decreased slightly.  Image 2:  No changes to the surgical cavity.  No evidence of cancer growth.

 ...not growing.

[Stop.  Insert your own version of happy dance here, as desired.]

We intended today's post to be a celebration of more little things, such as these three:

1.  Celebrating Darrell's sense of humor.

Before the scan, he checked his wristband to make it didn't say "amputation."

2.  Celebrating Marianne.

All of Darrell's "scanners" have been great, but Marianne was especially caring, kind, and helpful.  She was careful to check our recommend scan settings, talked to Darrell over a speaker throughout to let him know how much time was left, and demonstrated for us how the "panic button" works.  Thanks to Marianne, the scan went very smoothly with little anxiety from Darrell.

3.  Celebrating Diet Mountain Dew in the vending machine while we awaited the CD copy of the scan images.

The day went so smoothly that Darrell barely finished that can before the CD was ready.

We intended for these small celebrations to be our post today.  However...the day went so smoothly that, while we were changing arrays back at home after the MRI, the radiologist posted the tentative results!  Clear scan! No noticeable changes from January's scan.  We've never gotten the results so quickly.  Darrell said he thought he had 24 more hours of worry ahead. (Of course, we need the "clear thumbs up" from Drs. Park and Cloughesy, but keep dancing.)

As a result, our lunch at Panera was not just celebrating the completion of the scan.

It was celebration of another two months of reprieve!  I almost said, "I can't tell you how good it feels," but then I realized that you already know.

Travel plans are a go.  Next trip:  On to Pennsylvania for Match Day with Alex and Tiana next week.

Your prayers, good thoughts and wishes, emojis and emoticons, meditations, and caring support sustain us.

Feel free to take responsibility for today's great news, Team D.
