Sunny in Sitka

Brain cancer is...

...enjoying another beautiful Alaskan day.

Here's the harbor at Sitka when we were about to tender back to our ship.  Sitka is on an island and was the first capital of Alaska.
Today we hiked in the Tongass National Forest, the huge temperate rain forest through which we have been travelling all along.

We were instructed to take bear spray...and to know how to use it.

Some nice people let us borrow their spray.  You see other team members carrying big sticks to bluff charge the bears as necessary.  No bears sighted.  Most team members were happy about that.

We are posting early today because we are about to head out to sea again.  We'll be at sea all day tomorrow as well.

Sorry so many team D members are suffering in the heat right now.  We'll try to bring some coolness back when...or if...we come home. Anchors away!
