Greeley Adventure Day

Brain cancer is...

...enjoying a day of adventure in Greeley.

Today we hiked along the Cache La Poudre River.  This river starts in the Rocky Mountains, west of here, and flows east through Greeley until it meets the confluence of the South Platte River.  The name of this river means "Powder cache" and refers to the gunpowder cache of French-Canadian trappers who buried their cache at the onset of crazy blizzards in the early 1800s.  (Click here if you could possibly be interested in the single source of our information in such matters.)

It was a great hike.  We admit that we saw many birds. We also admit that we were probably under the influence of the documentary we watched last night on the paleolithic art of the Lascaux Cave; our senses of observation and attitudes of wonder and inquiry were perhaps heightened.

Only for those who have another few minutes to spare to consider such weighty matters, here's the slideshow of our hike:

In any case, let's enjoy our penultimate Greeley sky.

Happy Labor Day, Team D.  And good night.

  2. Hey Denise! I responded earlier...I thought. : ( No snacks. Also no "strenuous" rating. It was "easy." But it was beautiful as well. Got to get an adventure girl hike on the books.
