A Dozen Down.

Brain cancer is...

 ...finished training.

The light, above, was nice when we finished our last training walk for this year's Super Bowl Stroll, 12 miles.  The remainder of our walks before the Stroll will be typical, lower mileage ones.

Snacks made such a huge difference today.  We're tired but still lucid.

Today's Most Interesting Thing

After her run, Christine came and joined us for our first few miles at Yorba Regional Park.

Near the beginning of the walk, we shared with Christine our recent story of a birder at that park who showed us an osprey in a nearby tree.  We looked up as we walked by the tree and...

...there was the osprey!  It was thrilling.  We learned today that ospreys are a kind of hawk.  That makes sense because they are also called "fish hawks" and "sea hawks."

Darrell, in particular, is a big fan of birds of prey.  Surprised?

Happy Saturday, Team D!

  1. So Geoff, today I saw first-hand the Guillaume's fascination with birds. Although you and I come from the same (non bird-loving) camp, it's hard not to appreciate their deep love for our feathered friends. And the osprey was really cool! Happy Sunday!

  2. Go ahead, Geoff. Tell Christine what you had to say about osprey. Hater.
