Today feels (blissfully) like yesterday.

 Brain cancer is...

 ...chillin'.

We love hitting our slower, mountain rhythm.  Above is a scene I really did happen upon when I left the computer.  Very few edits to the scene were required.

Our big news is that our birds are slowly returning.  Today we spotted nuthatches and northern flickers enjoying our seed snacks.

So let’s catch up on Team D events for the week elsewhere.

  • In a show of strength that was both heartwarming and typical of them, the Mayfield family (survivors) commemorated the lives of the people lost at the Las Vegas masacre, three years ago on October 1.
  • LuAnn and Frank earned an early OAB (Optune Adventurers Badge).  They got caught in a surprise rainstorm, did some quick thinking, and ended the story with a rainbow.
  • Speaking of bear v bear match ups:  Gail gave us the great news that we are now in the midst of Fat Bear Week! Bears at Alaska's Katmai National Park are getting fat in preparation for hibernation.  Bears--with their skinny and fat pics--are matched another competitor and voted on by...us!  Voters choose the fattest bear.  Take a look at the brackets and winners thus far here.  How did we NOT know about Fat Bear Week?  Thanks Gail!

Happy Saturday, Team D!  We hope it's at least as good as Friday.

Today's Blooms

We walked just 30 minutes by the lake today and were surprised by how many kinds of blossoms we saw.

  2. You inspired us to watch the cams too. We missed the bears. Lucky you! Did you see who won? Bear 747. He was so fat that they predict he could have started hibernating in July and still made it.
