The Boss of Reason

Readers note:  Main blogger Andi here today.  I'm on a roll.

Brain cancer is...

...listening to the boss of reason.

Darrell woke up this morning saying (surprise!), "It's going to be a great day!"

When I told him that, no, it would probably not be the most prudent idea to have lunch on the patio at Lazy Dog, he asked me if I would order Lazy Dog delivery for lunch.

I said, "Of course I will! AND I will order you BJ's delivery for dinner too."   Darrell said, "Well, I need to listen to the voice of reason today."

But with my hearing loss, it sounded like he needed to listen to the boss of reason.  I like my way better.  I'm the Boss of Reason.  Write it down.

Above you see I've made good on the first two of my reasonable promises.

Square Inches of Silver Lining
  • Sometimes my hearing loss has happy consequences.
  • Getting Lazy Dog delivery again rather than going to the patio at first felt like a step backward.  But sometimes we need to go backward to go forward.
  • CoVid holidays!  There is much to grieve about what CoVid has done to life for everyone.  In huge ways like life and livelihood and in little ways like holiday rituals.  But Darrell and I are seeing some small, sweet holiday benefits.  Some holidays have a homespun feeling to them that helps us focus on the meaning of the day.  An example was our anniversary.  It was touching and romantic and focused on each other instead of on a grand adventure.  Another is yesterday's celebrations.  Fireworks are legal in our city, and after dark, our whole street just kept sparkling...much longer than a professional show would last.  And the sky lit up with small aerial fireworks for hours.  The celebrations outlasted us!
Today's Bloom

Park flower or sea anemone?  Not sure.
